The ANAK Society selects juniors and seniors who exhibit a true love for Georgia Tech through their campus involvement and compassion for their fellow students. Before 1961, members were publicly selected at the semi-annual IFC (inter-fraternity council) dances when they were "tapped" on the shoulder. Since 1961, membership in the ANAK Society has been secret. Only when members reach graduation are they publicly announced in the Technique. Most of the work of the ANAK Society is conducted anonymously with members seeking no recognition for their service.
